Ahriman of the Thousand Sons

For Ahriman I started with the cloak.

The main color for the cloak is VGA Warlord Purple over a white base coat.  The underside of the cloak is VMA White Grey.

Then I used GW Xereus Purple to create the shadows in the cloak.

I then followed up with another coat of VGA Warlord Purple to even out the colors and brighten it up.  Then I applied a very thin coat of VMA Wood to the underside.

From there I used these paints for the various armor and weapon colors:

- GW Retributor Armor with Sepia wash for the gold.
- VMA Silver with sepia wash for all silver parts.
- Blue Armor is Many coats of Forgeworld Calth Blue (clear) airbrush paint on top of a Leadbelcher undercoat.
- All the Green Gems are VMA Silver and then Tamiya Clear Green.
- The Green Warpflame was done with a white base (any white works) and then GW Waywatcher Green Glaze (See Below)

The next step was to make his base.  For this I used the GW Balewind Vortex with white base and GW Waywatcher Green Glaze.

The other parts were done in four stages.

GW Kantor Blue over black base coat.

GW Kabalite Green over the blue.

VGA Escorpena Green over the Kabalite.  GW Moot Green Works also.

Then I performed a dry brush of GW Moot Green on the skulls and the extreme edges.

And that's it.  The Silver was all VMA Silver with either a sepia or a red wash.

  2. Thanks, I really appreciate it. I started the blog because I have so many schemes that I have to keep track of. This way if I paint up another Ahriman on six months I can look up what I did.
