House Terryn Part One

For this imperial knight detachment commission I was finally able to make use of some Forgeworld House Terryn knight upgrades that I've had for a while.  There are three knights in this detachment and I'm painting them as follows.

The Fury of Voltoris (above)

Yorac, Spear of the Righteous (above)

All of these knights have very distinct heraldry on their armor plates and shoulders especially.  I was fortunate that the Forgeworld upgrades have accounted for the House's iconography.  They must have purposefully left one of the front panels without any raised symbols (more on that later).

For the color scheme I decided to stick with the standard colors with one difference.  The blue in the GW scheme is just Kantor Blue with some dry brushing and a LOT of edging.  I'm not a fan of the GW edging.  It works on some things but ends up looking too comical to me most of the time.  So I applied a highlight of GW Caledor Sky to the GW Kantor Blue to make it pop.

To finish it off I applied GW Retributor Armor with a Seraphim Sepia wash.   For the scroll and horse I first painted GW Administratum grey and then washed it with GW Nuln Oil.  Letting that dry I then applied a pure white dry brushing to bring out the texture.  Any white will do.  For the black eagle I painted it with GW Abaddon Black and then dry brushed with GW Mechanicus Standard Grey.
